Why Baby Videography?

Here are some of the common questions I get asked about the difference between Baby Photography and Baby Videography, and what it is we do:

1. What is the difference between Baby Photography and Baby Videography?

As the name suggests, Baby Photography will include a photo shoot at either a studio or a location of your choice. A photographer will direct you and your child or family to pose or perform some actions to take the photos. At the end of the session, or after a few days, you will be presented a set of photos and you can select to print, frame or buy it in digital format (which usually has a watermark of the company who took the photos).

A Baby Videography session with Proud Daddy Moments will include a video shoot at your home or location of choice, and at a time that you believe will bring out the best in your child or children.

After the videography session, you will receive a preview video that you can comment on and after taking on board your feedback and making the improvements to the video, you will be provided with a digital copy of your video, and a bespoke video album so that you can share the video both online, and in social situations where you may not be able to access the video online.

2. How long does a baby videography session take?

It usually takes no more than 3 hours. This is because we understand that with children, especially under 3, there are nap and feeding times to consider, and the attention span and best performance from them will happen in the first 1.5 to 2 hours.

Some children need more time to warm up then others, so we have found that approximately 3 hours will allow for the best results in any baby photo shoot or videography session.

3. What do I need to prepare for a baby video shoot?

During kids or baby photography sessions, props or costumes may be used to make it look cuter or to create a theme.

However, children videography is an art-documentary of a child's life. Proud Daddy Moments believe that natural is best, and the best costume is whatever the child is comfortable in, and the best prop is usually you, the parent. Sometimes, children may have a favourite toy that they love to play with or will make the feel more comfortable in unusual situations (and a videography or photography session is an unusual situation), so they should be included to bring the best out of your child.

You should however consider tidying up the rooms in the home so that there isn't an ugly bin the background, or a messy living room, or dirty laundry in the corner of the room.

4. Do I have to pay extra for getting additional copies of the video, and can I upload them online or copy them to give it to others?

No, and Yes. You do not have to pay extra for additional copies of the video. That is why we give you a digital copy of the video that you can duplicate yourself, or uploaded it to your social channels as you please. All copyrights to the video is yours.

All we ask is for you give us permission to use it in the Proud Daddy Moments Social channels, and for our marketing purpose.

5. How do we know that the videographers will be able to get the best out of our children?

Our videographers are parents too, and love working with children; and have done so in various capacities.

However, as with all social relationships, the is no guarantee that your child will respond and interact with us on the day of the video shoot. What we will do in those situations is to have you the parent to be more involved in the shoot.

Regardless of which, we always want you to be involved in the video shoot as well because this is a documentary of your child's life, and you are an important part of it. It would only be natural that in capturing this moment in their life, you should be intimately involved.

6. If I already have some professional photos, or well taken photos, can I make it into a video presentation?

Yes. We understand that you may already have done a professional baby photography session, and have a set of beautiful photos; or that you have been collecting well taken photos of your child through the months and years.

We are able to use those photos to make a lovely video presentation for you.

7. Do you do baby photography as well as baby videography?

Proud Daddy Moment is dedicated to baby videography. We are able to extract beautiful still images from our videos that you can use online. However, there is a limit to the size of the photo if you want to print it. The largest size you can print without loosing too much quality in the photo is 4in by 6in.

8. Do you provide videography services for kids events like cake smash or birthday parties?

Yes, we do provide videography services for parties like cake smash and birthdays. However, do note that our focus is on your child during the event, and not the event itself.

What this means is if there are 10 activities that have been planned or happen during event, and your child only participates in 4 of those activities, we may or may not videograph the other 6 activities.

9. How long do I have to wait for the final video after the video shoot is completed?

It usually takes about a week from the video shoot to get the video edited; and an online digital copy will be ready for download then. When called for, we can produce the video in as little as 2 days.

10. How much does a baby video cost?

The standard package with Proud Daddy Moments cost $950 all up. If you have specific requests like longer videos, or multiple videos, a package rate will be discussed.

These are just some some of the more common questions I've had. Please feel free to give me a call or contact me via the contact page if you want to know more about Baby Videography, or Proud Daddy Moments.
